Here is how we inspect final earth rod product:
Measure the diameter of the bar in positions shown on measurements page. Measure 3 positions along the length of the bar.
Rod coating thickness is measured in positions shown on measurements page. Measure 3 positions around the diameter of the bar @ 120 degree intervals and 3 positions long the length of the bar.
Cut a length of rod 200mm long and apply a 2 X45 deg chamfer. Drive the rod through the jaws. Observe the adherance of the copper coating to the steel substructure for good adhesion.
Bend the bar through 5 times (+/-1.0mm) its Diameter (71mm) to an angle of 90 deg. After bend the specimens should show no signs of cracks, sharp edges or peeling around bend.
